This kit features a dual ended pusher and nail cleaner, manicuring scissors and cuticle nippers for beautifully manicured nails.
STEP 1: NAIL SCISSORS
Purpose: Designed to trim and shape the free-edge.
How-To: Hold the scissors with your thumb and middle finger inside the handle while resting your pointer finger on the underside of the scissors to keep it steady. Gently trim the edge of your nail plate to the desired length and shape with small cuts.Pro Tip: Trim nails after showering to avoid brittle nail trimmings flying around!Fun Fact: Nail scissors were originally created to trim cuticles before nippers were invented. Now they’re repurposed as a versatile implement for trimming nail plates, cutting nail stickers and various other uses.
STEP 2: CUTICLE PUSHER
Purpose: The pusher side is designed to gently push back the excess cuticle tissue stuck to the nail plate. Cuticles prevent your nail products from adhering properly, so it’s best to remove any visible cuticle tissue from the nail plate before applying your nail products.
How-To: Lay the pusher flat on your nail plate and starting from the middle of the nail plate, gently push up towards the base of your nail and stop at the base. With minimal pressure, you’ll see a white flaky skin start to lift from the nail plate. That is your cuticle! Gently push all of the cuticle up towards the base of the nail, being mindful not to use too much pressure where you can risk peeling your nail plate. Then it’s time to nip away that excess cuticle.
STEP 3: NAIL CLEANER
Purpose: Designed to gently remove debris from under the free-edge.
How-To: With the blade facing away from the free-edge, gently sweep the tip of the knife under the free-edge to remove debris.
STEP 4: CUTICLE NIPPERS
Purpose: Designed to gently trim hangnails & dead, lifted cuticle tissue on the nail plate.
How-To: Keeping the blade parallel to the area you are trimming, gently remove hangnails from the skin surrounding the nail and trim the loose, dead cuticle tissue from the nail plate.
PRO TIP: If the skin is white or much lighter than your natural skin tone, that means it is dead and is OK to trim. If it is the color of your skin, do not trim.
